As long as we have a body,
we cannot escape its dharma,
which is to get dirty.
We just have to keep cleaning ourselves
at regular intervals.
Let us try to enjoy these cleaning sessions.
Come do it with me.

The Fork
A chap went on a search,
for the true self.
Soon a fork appeared in the path.
An old lady was sitting there
spinning some yarn.
The guy asked her
which road to take
to reach the true self.
She said, "that I cannot tell you."
But I can tell you about the roads.
The road to the right
is well charted,
it has been taken by many over the ages.
There is a route map
and there are mile stones.
It has sarais along the way
for the weary traveller,
well stocked inns and night spots,
all conveniences to make
the journey comfortable
and of course enjoyable.
There is only one snag,
they all come back to this spot
and ask the same questions."
After taking the road to the right
a number of times, and coming backk
to the fork repeatedly,
the chap asked,
"what about the road to the left?"
"well, nothing is known about it.
You see, who ever takes the road to the left,
never comes back."
I was the chap in search.
I am now the old lady spinning yarn.

The Journey
The visible part of the river,
visible to the people on the surface,
flows in a single direction
towards the ocean,
which also has a fixed location.
What about the part
that overflows the banks?
or the one that oozes through the soil
towards parched roots?
The first is a worldly journey
with beginnings,direction, destination,
rate of flow, success, failure et all.
The other is a spiritual journey
in which all these are merged
into a seamless oneness.
Existence is much more than
what the senses can gather.

Old Leaves
Old leaves
covering the grass
forming a protective mulch
even as they decay,
shielding the moisture
from the harsh sun,
provide nutrition to the soil
and the seeds
waiting to sprout.
The old is not useless
to be discarded and dumped
it needs to be allowed
to nurture and to feed
even as it moves on
to another world.

Birth and Death
No one has ever gone, no one has ever come.
We just change form,
a combination of gross and subtle.
No need to mourn death.
No need to celebrate birth.

Celebrating
What is new?
only one more step
in the wilderness within
and without.
To truly enjoy and celebrate
the idea of controlling
needs to be given up.

Needs
Every thing around us
and all the happenings within
have been designed
especially for us to enjoy.
What more do we need?

The Grand Opera
Who are "they"?
Be careful of wise quotes.
You and I
are spiritual beings
who have taken form
(or are given form)
to play a few roles
in the grand opera
that is creation..
We inspire each other
as we perspire together.

The essential woman
Each layer of a woman
(of a man too)
from her aura
to the still light
deep within,
is divine radiance.
I love it all the way.

A Message
A Message from a dear friend, i wish to share with all.
Ganoba
loving and living
one and the same
like cleaning and caring
and loving and sharing
twin aspects of
only one flame
good morning dear soul
love oozes from this message
it is received with gratitude
and delight
all is well here
such pleasure to say these words
and find them true
yes it is possible to refuse love gifts
but who could call it living?
thankfully heaven has other plans
much love for the day

Loving
Cleaning like breathing
is an on going process.
Can we stop breathing
for a while
just because we don't feel like it?
Loving is of the same class.
Can I stop loving
and still live?

The Illusion
The inside outside illusion is created by us
by giving too much importance to the skin, to the divider.
Then we go one step further in strengthening the illusion
by treating one or the other side as more significant than the other.
When the house is on fire is it safer to be inside or outside?
When it rains should the farmer stay indoors for fear of getiing wet?
All the meanings we hold dear are contextual, not universal.

No Miracles
We are in the field of possibilities,
any thing can come to pass.
Ones we see it this way,
then there are no miracles,
just wonderful happenings.

A Walk in the Wild
Does every thing have to be researched?
Can’t we find out for ourselves what is good for us?
I have used a walk in the wilderness all my life to solve tricky problems, to draw inspiration for some creative effort, to understand the mysteries of nature and also to feel one with the world whenever I feel lost.
I have recommended it to many people, who initially scoffed at the suggestion and finally used to good advantage, when other things did not work for them.
The beauty of a walk is that it is a unique experience for every one.

Reacing the Heart
This labored effort;
diving deep,
pealing of layers
of unconscious shit,
to reach the heart
will leave invisible scars
difficult to heal.
Let it happen
non-invasive
the way leaves and flowers
fall off when ripe.

Witness
When I as a witness,
stand apart
from the moment,
eternity mocks at me
challenges me,
to jump in the whirlpool
and lose my unique identity.
(which I foolishly cherish so much)

The Light Within
I long as I love or hate my shadow,
making me cling to it,
or run away from it,
How would I realise
The light within?

Light and Darkness
Me, the light and the shadow
the trimurty
created by Maya.
As Maya merges with Ishwar
the illusion is gone.
When I realise that I am the light
the shadow vanishes.
Light and darkness
are they two?

More than a Face
As an actor, I once had a role,
in which I had to sit with my back to the audience.
For a while I was petrified.
How do I express myself?
Would they recognise me, my struggles, my achievements?
It helped me to realise,
that I am more than a face.
